The Pinterest Wedding

During their younger years little girls would spend hours dreaming about their fairy tail wedding, acting out the moment her prince came to sweep her off her feet using Barbie and Ken and maybe even drawing countless versions of her future wedding dress. Little does she know that anything she likes at 8 years old, she won't in 20 years time.

But now as a young adult she has once again found a way to spend hours dreaming of her perfect wedding. Planning it, deciding on what hair and nails, choosing her cake, even picking out the engagement ring she will be given in the future. And this is all thanks to Pinterest.

With endless streams of pictures of hair, dresses, cakes, decor ideas and literally every other conceivable thing needed for a wedding, all one needs to do is search for something they feel they need at their future wedding such as "big sparkly wedding cakes". And there they are, millions of pictures of big sparkly wedding cakes from which she can choose her favorites and pin them to a fictitious board to find later when she does finally have a real wedding to plan.

Now I will not deny, I too have a 'weddings' board on Pinterest, because wedding are beautiful and I will not disagree that it is fun to brows through what mad wedding trends are out there. BUT, this is my suggestion to the brides of Pinterest, if you have a board dedicated to your vision for your future wedding, make it a secret board which only you can view. This is a good idea for three reasons; 1) you do not appear to be that girl who is desperate to be married and wants the wedding more than the marriage, this is if you care about public opinion. 2) For when you do start planning your actually wedding, having all your ideas and possible plans up on Pinterest gives away the surprise to any friends who glance past your board. 3) For those taking the first tentative steps of a relationship, a new man in your life may be rather put off or unnerved if he decides to mosey past your Pinterest only to find you are wedding nuts.  But to be fair, I think inside most women, there is a wedding nut, just not all of them have wedding boards.

So go on, pin that perfect cake and the dream bouquet just do it on the LD. So men, be warned, you may not see it, but somewhere on her Pinterest your girlfriend is planning your wedding. But ladies lets remember to choose our future grooms because they are awesome and not because they agree with our Pinterest visions, okay?
